RoHS Directive
The European Union's RoHS legislation was enacted by the EU parliament to control the distribution of certain hazardous substances. RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive 2002/95/EC will ban the use of specific hazardous substances starting on 1 July 2006.
The RoHS directive restricts the introduction of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.
Jefferson Electric has determined that the majority of our products comply with the RoHS directive. Some custom products and specialty items have not been reviewed for RoHs compliance. Certificates of Conformity are available and listed below for groups of Jefferson Electric products. Contact our technical services department for more information.
